Nada Kanaan
Somatic Arts & Emotional Literacy Specialist
Helping you reconnect with your inner truth through the body

Meet me, Nada
Hi, I’m Nada—pronounced ‘Neda.’ My name comes from Syria and means morning dew. Much like the dew, healing is about quiet, steady renewal. As a woman of the diaspora and a mother of two grown children, I’ve witnessed the deep stress and emotional disconnection that many families endure. My work grew out of my own healing process and a realization: our communities need a bridge back to emotional wellness. I’m here to help provide that bridge.
Our Healing Spaces
I’m a trauma-informed Somatic Healing Facilitator, Reiki Healer & Nervous System Educator.

What Guides My Work
Our work begins with empathy. For many, the first layer of healing is simply being seen, heard, and understood, often for the first time. From that space of safety, we listen to what your body is carrying.
We go beyond traditional inner child work by diving into the somatics of your experience, tracing wounds and ‘dis-ease’ back to their earliest roots. By revisiting these memories through the body, we don’t just talk about healing; we feel it. Using a blend of ancient wisdom, spiritual insight, and evidence-based tools, I help you navigate this depth to reconnect with your inner truth.”
Weaving Soul and Science
I’ve facilitated workshops for all ages across the globe. My work weaves together:
- Somatic Practices: Trauma-informed care and embodiment.
- The Bridge of East & West: Merging Eastern healing modalities with Western inquiry.
- Emotional Literacy: Guided by Nonviolent Communication (NVC) and mindfulness.
My Path in Action…From supporting programs in South Africa’s Western Cape to leading nature-based workshops in Costa Rican public schools, my work is truly “purpose-driven.” Whether I am facilitating The Hero’s Journey with Emotions or my globally offered adult workshop, Revealing the Truth Through Lines, the goal remains the same: a return to our inner truth.
My approach is grounded in the wisdom of Mikao Usui, Dan Siegel, Tara Brach, Gabor Mate, Peter Levine, and Bessel van der Kolk, as well as global insights from CDC’s ACE study , UNICEF and WHO.
How we can work together

I offer workshops and “playshops” designed to support emotional literacy, healing, and spiritual growth.
For Children: My playshops are joyful, active spaces. We weave together movement, embodiment, and a unique touch of photography to help children express and explore their inner worlds in a language beyond words.
For Adults: I offer one-on-one or group sessions to gently explore childhood memories, uncover unconscious patterns, and heal deep emotional wounds. I also educate you on your nervous system. Each session is designed to help you reconnect with your inner strength and restore balance to your body, mind, and spirit. I also offer Reiki within these sessions or separately.
Credentials & Training
My path has been one of both “Systems and Soul.” For over 20 years, I served in corporate leadership across the education, environmental, and financial sectors. Eventually, I realized my true calling was a shift from designing systems to designing healing experiences.
